Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1830 to 1834.

He was a member of the Whig Party and a close friend of the Duke of Wellington.

He was the son of General Charles Grey and the grandson of the 1st Earl Grey.

Grey was elected to the House of Commons in 1806 and held a variety of Cabinet positions prior to becoming Prime Minister.

During his tenure, Grey passed the Great Reform Bill of 1832, which extended the franchise and reduced the power of the House of Lords.

He also abolished slavery in Britain's colonies and passed the Factory Act of 1833, which improved working conditions for children.

After leaving office, Grey moved to his estate in Northumberland and continued to play a major role in British politics.
