Barack Obama was the 44th President of the United States, serving from 2009 to 2017.

He was the first African-American to be elected to the office and was the first president to be born outside the continental United States.

Obama was a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review.

He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree.

His political career began as a member of the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004 and the United States Senate from 2005 to 2008.

Obama was the Democratic nominee for president in 2008 and won a decisive victory over Republican nominee John McCain.

During his two terms, Obama oversaw the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, reduced the number of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and strengthened diplomatic ties with Cuba.
