He served as vice president under Ronald Reagan from 1981 to 1989.

He was born on June 12, 1924 in Milton, Massachusetts.

During WWII, he served in the Navy and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

He was successful in foreign affairs and led the US through the end of the Cold War.

He negotiated with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to bring an end to the Cold War.

He was also responsible for passing the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
