1.John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United states, serving from 1961 to 1963.
He was born into a prominent political family in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1917.
He served in World War II as a U.S. Navy officer, rising to the rank of lieutenant.
In 1947, he was elected as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Massachusetts’ 11th Congressional district.
He was elected to the Senate in 1952, and was the youngest person elected President in 1960.
During his presidency, Kennedy worked to advance civil rights, and established the Peace Corps.
He was assassinated in Dallas, Texas in 1963.
