John Quincy Adams was the sixth President of the United States, serving from 1825 to 1829.

Adams was the son of President John Adams and Abigail Adams, and he was the first President to be the son of a former President.

Before becoming President, Adams served in a number of political roles, including United States Ambassador to the Netherlands and President of the Senate.

As President, Adams sought to strengthen the executive branch and reduce the influence of the Supreme Court.

He was an early advocate of abolitionism, calling for an end to slavery in the United States.

After leaving office, Adams was elected to the House of Representatives, where he continued to fight for the abolition of slavery.
