Lyndon B. Johnson (1963-1969) was the 36th President of the United States.

He was born on August 27, 1908 in Stonewall, Texas.

Johnson was a Democratic politician and served in the US House of Representatives, Senate and served as the Vice President of the US under John F. Kennedy.

He became President after Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.

Johnson was credited with passing the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and the Fair Housing Act of 1968.

He escalated the Vietnam War and was a strong advocate for the Great Society and War on Poverty.

Johnson was not re-elected in 1968 due to the unpopularity of the Vietnam War.
