Virunga National Park was formed in 1925 in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
It is the oldest national park in Africa and is a UNESCO world heritage site.
The park is famous for its mountain gorillas, chimpanzees and okapi wildlife.
It is also home to an active volcano, Lake Kivu, savannahs and rainforest.
The best time to visit is during the dry season, June-September.
There are several endangered species within the park including the mountain gorilla, okapi, and African wild dog.
