Alexander Graham Bell was born in 1847.

He was a Scottish-born inventor, scientist, and engineer who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone.

Bell was also one of the founding members of the National Geographic Society.

He was a professor at both the University of Edinburgh and University College London.

Bell was a leader in the development of hydrofoil boats and aeronautics.

He also conducted experiments with sound and the transmission of sound, leading to the development of the telephone.

In 1876, Bell received a patent for the telephone and founded the Bell Telephone Company.
