John Cadbury was born in 1801, in the United Kingdom.
He was a successful businessman, who founded the Cadbury chocolate company in 1824.
Along with production of baking chocolate, he opened a coffee and tea shop in Birmingham, England.
His business flourished, and Cadbury's became the first chocolate producer in the country.
He was a strong advocate for social reform, and a supporter of the temperance movement.
He was a Unitarian, and donated a significant amount of his wealth to the Unitarian Church.
John Cadbury died in 1889, and his sons took over the company, which continues to be successful today.
