Joseph-Armand Bombardier was born in 1907 in Canada.

He was an engineer and inventor who founded the Bombardier company in 1942.

He pioneered the development of trackless transportation systems, starting with the snowmobile.

His inventions revolutionized transportation in the Canadian north and helped to open up the Arctic region.

In 1959, he developed the first snowmobile, the Ski-Doo, which made it easier to travel in the snow.

He also developed the world's first regional jet aircraft, the Canadair Regional Jet, in 1986.

He was awarded the Order of Canada in 1967, and was inducted into the Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of Fame in 2004.
