William Morris was a European entrepreneur who was born in 1877.

His first foray into business was a bicycle repair shop, which he opened in Oxford in 1892.

After his initial success in bicycle repair, Morris began to expand his business interests.

In 1910 he founded the Morris Motors Limited, which focused on car production.

He was responsible for the manufacturing of the first 'Bullnose' Morris, which was an extremely popular model of car.

He was also a philanthropist, donating to numerous charities and providing support for education and research.

Morris Motors Limited eventually became part of British Leyland, with the company being renamed MG Rover Group in 2000.
