History of India, 1530 AD, Babur died and was succeeded Humayun
In 1530 AD, Babur, the founder of the Mughal dynasty, died and was succeeded by his son Humayun.
Humayun was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and had a Persian background, having been raised by his paternal grandmother.
Humayun’s reign was characterized by a lack of stability and unrest, due to a lack of strong leadership and the presence of powerful rivals.
Humayun was forced to flee India after a crushing defeat at the hands of Sher Shah Suri, who established the Sur Empire.
Humayun spent the next fifteen years in exile in Persia and Afghanistan, before he was able to reclaim the throne of Delhi in 1555.
Humayun was known for his patronage of arts and literature, as well as for his strong religious beliefs.
His reign was marked by the expansion of the Mughal Empire, with the conquest of Lahore and Multan, as well as by the establishment of the Mughal court.
