Ajay Piramal is an Indian entrepreneur and chairman of the Piramal Group, born in 1955.

He graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics in 1977 and acquired a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

He joined the family business in 1980 and took over as Chairman of the Piramal Group in 2012.

He has been involved in a number of business deals and acquisitions, including the acquisition of Nicholas Piramal India Ltd in 2010.

In 2011, he established the Piramal Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to the welfare of the Indian people.

He is also the Chairman of Shriram group, a financial services company.

He has been awarded several awards, including the Padma Bhushan in 2016.
