Gautam Adani (born 1962) is an Indian entrepreneur, chairman and founder of the Adani Group, a multinational conglomerate active in several sectors including energy, infrastructure, logistics, and agribusiness.

He is known for his ambitious business deals, including the acquisition of the Carmichael coal mine in Australia, and the world's largest solar power project in Gujarat.

Adani is from Ahmedabad and was born into a Gujarati business family.

He graduated from Gujarat University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Commerce.

After college, Adani worked for his family's diamond business, but soon left to pursue a career in trading.

In 1988, he founded the Adani Group, which has since become a large multinational conglomerate.

Adani is also the owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team, the Mumbai Indians.
