Subhash Chandra, born in 1950, is an Indian entrepreneur and chairman of the Essel Group.

He is the first Indian to launch a satellite television channel in India, Zee TV, in 1992.

He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2001 for his contribution to the Indian media industry.

He also served as an independent member of the Rajya Sabha from 2006 to 2012.

He is known for his business acumen and his commitment to philanthropy, donating millions of rupees to various charitable causes.

He has also set up the Subhash Chandra Foundation, which works towards uplifting the underprivileged.

He has authored several books, including My Journey: Transforming Dreams into Actions and The Z Factor: My Journey as the Wrong Man at the Right Time.
