Sunil Mittal is an Indian entrepreneur, born in 1957.

He is the founder and chairman of Bharti Airtel, one of the largest telecommunications companies in India.

He was one of the first entrepreneurs to recognize and utilize the potential of the mobile telephony business in India.

He started his business career by setting up a bicycle-parts manufacturing unit in Ludhiana, Punjab in 1976.

In 1992, he founded Bharti Airtel and under his leadership, the company has grown to become the world's third-largest mobile network operator.

In 2006, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award, in recognition of his contribution to the telecom industry.

In 2010, he was named the 'Entrepreneur of the Decade' by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
