Uday Kotak is an Indian Entrepreneur born in 1959.
He is the founder, executive vice chairman and managing director of Kotak Mahindra Bank, one of the largest private sector banks in India.
In 2003, he was awarded the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honors, for his contribution to the banking industry.
He has also received numerous accolades for his work and was named the “Best Banker of the Year” by Business Today in 2006.
He is a member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council and has been a part of the Indian Government’s National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council.
He has been listed as one of India’s wealthiest individuals by Forbes and has been featured in the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.
In 2017, Uday Kotak was the first Indian to receive the Asia Society’s Game Changer Award for his outstanding contribution to the banking sector.
