The park is situated in the Idukki district of Kerala, at a height of between 2000 and 2600 metres.

Eravikulam National Park is best visited between October and February, when the wildlife is more active.

Visitors to the park can spot a variety of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, jungle cats, wild dogs, and several species of birds.

The park also boasts a variety of flora, including the endangered Neelakurinji flower which blooms once every 12 years.
