Kaziranga National Park in Assam is renowned for being home to the highest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses.
It also hosts a large number of tigers, elephants, swamp deer, wild water buffalo and a variety of bird species.
Established in 1908, Kaziranga is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is best visited between the months of November and April when the park is open to visitors.
During the monsoon season, the park is closed and the animals are seen migrating to nearby hills.
The National Park offers a range of activities such as elephant-back safaris, jeep safaris, bird watching, and more.
Visitors can also explore the park’s numerous tea gardens, temples and villages.
