Bill Gates is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist, best known for co-founding Microsoft Corporation in 1975.

He was born in 1955, in Seattle, Washington to William and Mary Gates.

His career began as a programmer at Microsoft, and he quickly rose to become its CEO and largest shareholder.

As the head of Microsoft, Gates led the company to become the world’s largest personal-computer software company.

Gates was also the world’s richest person from 1995 to 2007 and was listed by Forbes magazine as the wealthiest individual in the world from 2014 to 2017.

Gates has also been actively involved in philanthropy activities and he and his wife, Melinda Gates, established the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000.

This foundation has funded various projects, including the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, as well as the construction of libraries in low-income communities.
