What is Cybersecurity? What is meant by cyber attack?

Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting networks, systems, and programs from digital attacks.

A cyber attack is any type of offensive maneuver that targets computer information systems, infrastructures, computer networks, or personal computer devices.

Examples of cyber attacks include phishing, malware, ransomware, denial of service attack, exploit attacks, SQL injection attack, password attack and social engineering attack.

Phishing is a form of social engineering that uses emails, text messages or websites to trick users into revealing confidential information.

Malware is malicious software that can steal personal information, damage data, or even hijack computers.

Ransomware is malicious software that encrypts data and locks users out until they pay a ransom.

A denial of service attack is when a malicious actor floods a network or website with traffic, making it unavailable to users.
